A workshop created specially for midwives and doulas. We will gather to learn guidelines, practical tools and food for thought to help reduce the potential for birth trauma among the families we serve.
As a doula or midwife, are you aware of how timely and sensitive birth debriefing may reduce the chances of an entrenched trauma response? Are you committed to holding space for your clients in a trauma-sensitive way?
This workshop will cover:
a neurobioogical framework for birth trauma
predictors of birth trauma
signs and symptoms of trauma
postpartum needs for regulation
ideas for ’birth debrief’ and ‘birth review’
who should do it?
supporting safety and grounding
signs of triggering
‘joining’ versus ‘merging’ with clients
scope of practice and when to refer on
Numbers will be capped at this event so please book early.
