We must care for ourselves as much as we care for our babies in the lead up to birth and beyond.

Growing your baby requires a lot of physical and emotional energy, which is why it’s so important for you to give yourself the space and time to grow, to understand and nurture your changing body and your maternal mind.

In this workshop, we will discuss ways to practice self-care through pregnancy including:

  • Choosing care providers and birth support that suit and support your preferences

  • Finding health practitioners to nurture your body, baby and emotions through pregnancy

  • Changing bodies: what to expect, understanding "why", how to handle and heal

  • Emotional adjustments: navigating identity shifts, dealing with "opinions"

  • Creating your village: strengthening relationships with partners before baby, establishing positive support systems

  • Nourishing nutrition and herbs for health: essential for growth of mother and baby

  • Reducing toxins: eliminating harmful products in your home and pantry

  • Relaxation and rejuvenating practices: benefits of mindfulness, sex, exercise and more

Vaughne is a birth and postpartum doula and naturopath who provides holistic health, education and healing services to women, birthing people and their partners looking for reproductive, fertility, pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatal support.
